2021 Controvento Rosso ( Montepulciano) Natural wine- Abruzzo
Red wine made from 100% Montepulciano grapes. This wine is an Abruzzese pulsing red heart – Strong and kind! Strong like the mountain and kind as its people of The Majella slopes. The wine immediately appears bright, ruby red in color with violet reflections of beautiful tonality. On the nose – interesting vinous hints linked to small crackling red fruits and black cherry in spirit. Lightly herbaceous with hints of aromatic herbs, laurel and sage. Dark tones of licorice and wet earth. Dry, fresh and surprisingly savory. Fine tannins and non-protagonistic, making the wine easy to drink. Elegant references to red fruits along with an almond finale. The spontaneous fermentation takes place in steel carefully supervised by the winemaker. No yeasts and sulphites. This wine is not clarified and is unfiltered. It rests in the bottle for a short time preserving it’s most unusual characteristics – Sleek!
