2018 Marions Vineyard Syrah - Deviot Tasmania

from A$126.00

In the summer of 1979, an indefatigable Cypriot and a Californian dreamer began crafting Marion’s Vineyard from an overgrown block of impenetrable bush and rock. Marion and Mark were pioneers of the cool, beautiful, and fecund Tamar River Valley. The original family is still there, and the young generation have taken over operations.

Crimson in colour and in flavour. Underneath a layer of white pepper on top, there is a waft of red: cranberry and pomegranate which continues to the palate, where the wine slips easily. There is a delicious savouriness, completely unlike its warmer counterparts. Age will soften acid and food makes this wine sing.
